Awareness in itself
There is a story to everything, not a beginning in the way that we try to define it, but an essence that simply "is." It's something that binds all things together at once but exists outside of what we understand as time. It is the quiet power that moves things. It is the stillness in motion and the presence that makes existence possible. Some call it "God," some call it "The Universe," but in reality the name is less important than the understanding that all that we see, touch and feel are connected by something much deeper than form itself.
In reality I am not saying that the name is unimportant; however, there are many names, but we are one humanity essentially experiencing something we all share together.
We may never fully understand how it all began, know where the words we refer to God, source, the universe, orgininate, but the undeniable truth is that it within that unfolding came something even more complex than existence itself. There became awareness.
From that awareness came love. I am not saying "love" as an emotion alone but as a state of being, a natural alignment with that original essence. Alongside love came ego. In this case not as a flaw but as a contrast, or a mechanism that allows separation, identity, and ultimately, choice. Within that duality exists one of the most profound gifts of human life, and that is the ability to choose.
Choice as the quiet architect of reality
When we are born, we enter the world as a blank canvas, influenced first by the environments around us and shaped by voices, conditions, and circumstances that we did not choose. However, there comes a subtle moment, often unnoticed, where awareness deepens and we begin to recognize that we are not only being shaped; we are also shaping. Within that realization and understanding, free will begins to take form. I would say that this is not as a complete independence from the world, but as the ability to respond to it with intention.
Some people choose to move in harmony with the systems and structures around them, thus finding purpose within the flow of society. Others feel called to step outside of those societal constructs and seek meaning beyond what has been established. I want to be clear and say that neither path is inherently right or wrong, because both are expressions of the same underlying truth, which is that we are participants in creation.
Part 1: Every choice, no matter how small, carries weight
A conversation, a decision, a moment of hesitation, or even something as simple as losing a ring while gardening can ripple outward in ways we may never witness in this lifetime. What seems insignificant in the present can become meaningful in the future, shaping perspectives, influencing discoveries, and leaving behind traces of existence that extend far beyond a single lifetime. In this sense, legacy is woven into the everyday mundane encounters and actions rather than being saved for the exceptional.
The beauty of humanity does not lie solely in what we define as good or bad. Those definitions shift across cultures, across time, and across perspective. What stays constant is the fact that we exist and that our existence leaves an imprint.
The eternal imprint
This does not mean that all actions are equal in experience or consequence, nor does it remove responsibility from the choices we make. Instead, it encourages a more profound understanding of those choices. It challenges us to consider not only what we do but also the motivation behind it because intention shapes our impact on the things around us in ways that are unseen.
It is easy to see life through the eyes of judgment. The way we often separate actions into right and wrong and judge worth by those separations. However, I think there is another way to see it. In this way, the individual does not ignore when something harmful is being done or dismiss the accountability of that action but recognizes that even in the complexities of human behavior, there is an opportunity for understanding.
Sometimes it's not about justification; it's about finding awareness in that moment because awareness leads to growth, and growth changes outcomes. It's a conscious choice rather than just doing it just because. Even if you can justify every action you take, are you aware of it to the point of care and love?
When you look at it from this perspective, at the core of this awareness is love. Not in the limited sense of affection or attachment, but as a state of alignment with the essence that connects all things. Just because you can doesn't mean you should, even if it's the tiniest thing.
Part 2: Every choice, no matter how small, carries weight.
It doesn’t always feel that way in the moment. In fact, most of our choices feel insignificant, almost invisible, like they disappear as soon as they’re made. Something as simple as throwing a dirty napkin out of a car window can feel harmless, like it doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things.
Honestly maybe in that one moment, it doesn’t seem like it does. I remember growing up and seeing a small piece of trash on the side of the road and thinking, well, if they did it, I can just leave mine here too. It wasn’t a decision meant to be harmful, and as a kid, it was almost unconscious, a quiet agreement with what already existed. I was already being socially conditioned to follow what I saw. Multiply that moment a hundred times, a thousand times, across different people, across different days, and suddenly what once felt small becomes something much larger. I added to that and kept the pattern going.
Patterns shape environments.
Here in the United States, we are fortunate in many ways. Systems are in place to manage what we discard. They are in place to clean what we overlook, to maintain a certain level of order. Ego! However, that is not the reality everywhere. There are places in the world where I have walked, where I have stood on my own two feet, and seen what happens when those small choices accumulate without interruption.
The results are not unseen; they are visible and tangible. In those places, trash does not remain an isolated act in those environments. It becomes part of the landscape. We are not talking about recycling, but absorption into daily life to the point where it is no longer questioned. It shapes not only the physical surroundings but also the mental and emotional experience of the people within it. When disorder, "Ego!" becomes normal, perception shifts, and what once may have felt out of place begins to feel expected and lived inside as the way it "just is."
That is the true weight of small choices. It's not just what they create physically but also what they reinforce psychologically. What we see repeatedly, we begin to accept and become conditioned with. As we accept, we begin to participate.
This is how environments are formed, not just through large decisions or sweeping change, but through the accumulation of everyday actions that seem too small to matter on their own.
It would not be of the aspect of existence, consciousness, and choice to say that they don't matter, because they indeed do matter, and they matter a lot. This same principle that allows harm to compound is the very same principle that allows positive change to take root. Just as one careless act can contribute to a pattern of neglect, one conscious act can interrupt that pattern. It can challenge what is accepted and begin to reshape what becomes normal. Consciousness and choice does not take a back seat and choose what to adhere to and what not to adhere to, the idea is that the same rules apply no matter what.
Where awareness transforms into responsibility
I am not talking about a responsibility that feels forced or heavy, but the kind that comes from simply understanding that nothing we do exists in isolation. Every action feeds into something, whether we see it or not.
The deeper truth is that you are always adding to the world around you, not only through your biggest decisions, but through your smallest ones. And I get it, it can sound obvious, almost like “yeah, I already know that.” But the real question is, are there things you are doing that you are not even aware of? Most of the time, the answer is yes, and that is not a fault, it is simply a lack of awareness in the moment.
This is not about becoming hyper-aware of everything you do or trying to control every movement of your life. That is not the message. The message is much simpler and much deeper at the same time. When love is expressed without distortion, it naturally gives rise to compassion, and compassion creates space.
In many ways, this is a form of unconscious love. It is the ability to move through life in a way that allows room for learning, healing, and growth without unnecessary suffering, while existing in a balance of awareness and unawareness.
We already live this out in simple ways every day. Think about driving. You stay in your lane without constantly thinking about it. You are aware, but not overly focused. The moment you begin to drift, something within you recognizes that something is off, and you naturally correct yourself.
That is the balance not rooted in perfection or constant vigilance, but internal alignment that gently guides you back when you begin to move out of place.
The shifting and trajectory of humanity
This shift is not through force or fear, but through a gradual recognition that we are not separate from one another in the ways we often believe. The more this understanding deepens, the more our choices begin to reflect something greater than individual gain, and the more we contribute to a future that is shaped not by reaction, but by intention.
In that sense, the question is not whether we choose good or bad, but whether we choose consciously. Conscious choice carries a different kind of weight and acknowledge that every action contributes to something larger. Every moment is part of a continuum that stretches beyond what we can see, and the way we live our lives becomes a reflection of the awareness we hold.
The reality of your importance
You are not just existing within the world, you are influencing it. Your one life means more to this world than you could imagine. That influence, whether quiet or profound, temporary or lasting, it's something that transcends time itself. What you contribute becomes part of the ongoing story of everything. For that reason, your existence is not small nor meaningless.
Your existance is a light, within a vast and unfolding reality. Through your choices, that light leaves an echo forever. May your light shine in a manner that helps build love, compassion, and cohesiveness that will live in someones human memory eons from now.
